That Wine Place Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This place is a total and complete waste. Went there last night for date night, and the waiter kept trying to upsell us wines we didn't ask for. To the point where he was bringing out glasses that we didn't request in place of what we asked for. One selection was so bad he said he'd replace it and give us a discount. When the check came, no discount. He said the manager wouldn't allow it. We asked to speak to manager, told the whole story and she offered 50% discount on the horrible selection the waiter brought which wasn't even what we asked for. When we got the check only a 20% discount was applied. Everything about this place was a bait and switch and empty promises. I will never go here again and will tell everyone I know to steer clear!!! Literally the worse service I have ever experienced in my life!!!

Poor Service - even though there was more staff than actual customers. Very unprofessional and immature. I tried ordering 2 glasses of bubbly to be told that they didn't have neither and gave attitude when I didn't like their only recommendation they had in stock which was not similar to anything I was trying to order. Will never recommend and ended drinking nothing at all. Rhea was very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable

Great place to enjoy some wine and some good tapas speaking of tapas my favorite ones are italian Bruschetta, mediterranean hummus & italian antipasto great food to complement my preference Cabernet or malbec of wines I have been to this establishment numerous amount of times and I have to say I've never had a problem here whether it's the food, service time or the staff. Which are always always very friendly and helpful but when I usually come here and if there busy. Then i do the one shot ordering saves a lot of time between waiting staff coming back to check on you.

I really liked this place. Very nice atmosphere with music on some nights and will even give you a free glass sometimes. The bartender was knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. They made you feel comfortable and the wine was very delicious. Will even let you try before you buy to make sure it's something you like. Get their number one red, the Merlot. They will know which one. I think it is from Napa but I'm not even a Merlot person (Cab Sav) and I liked it better than any of the other wines I tried. The cheese plate was also very good! I got cheddar with the garlic crostini and it was very delicious. Would try some more exotic cheeses next time.

Overpriced and they do not have a great selection of wines, or enough of a variety. The service was horrible.

Went here with a colleague after work for a casual glass of wine. So I will start off by saying I DID enjoy my wine, however the ambiance and the service stinks. Our server was nice enough, but was not very knowledgable about the wines. There was a wine 'list' but she had to check and see what was 'in the machine'. The thought that my wine is coming out of a 'machine' in the first place...hmmm. We had told her that we did not want to finish our bottle but when we finally wanted to leave, it took forever to get her attention. We decided to walk our bottle up to the register (YES, you had to pay at a register...like Denny's) and another server asked us, in a very condescending tone, if we had 'bagged that'. Duh, we had not since we were carrying it sans bag. They could not split the price of the wine in half for us so one of us had to pay for the whole bottle and then asked if we wanted to add tip. Yes, we did. 'How much?' The corkage fee was $15 and the service sucked so we added another $5; the look they gave us was priceless. People, gratuity is just that...if you didn't give me good service, you won't get tipped well. Spend your money elsewhere if you want good wine AND good service, at a place that doesn't make you feel like you're at the snack bar at Costco.

Food is pretty good and service is very good. Wine was amazing at $9 for pacific rim a glass. Caprese salad was $9 and empanadas was $9 also. Only downfall and a big one only one toilet and it is unisex for both men and women sigh. They do have wifi also.

Meh... I've never been to a wine tasting before but I've been curious to try this one. Btw...if you check in, they currently have an offer to try a glass of their house red wine for free. They have small plates available as well as cheese plates. We had Salmon Carpaccio, Hummus, and a Three Cheese Plate with Fruit Chutney. Everything was fresh and tasty. I really loved the Carpaccio and the Hummus. The vineyards on this particular Tuesday offered about 7 or 8 different wines at this tasting. A few Rose', a few Grenache blends, a Moscato, and a few Cava (Asti). I didn't like either of them. You pay $20, and I'm sure the hope is that you will use your twenty to buy a bottle of wine vs simply using it to pay for the tasting itself. I bought a bottle of Chocolate Box Cabernet Sauvignon. I've never tasted this particular wine but it's description sounded interesting. They use different vineyards though so maybe I'll try on a different night. I love being introduced to new wines.

Absolute worst experience ever. I wish I could give a ZERO star review. I'm Completely dishearten.. Planned my birthday with my four best friends, one flew from TN for the affair! Reserved for four the wine glass painting here a week in advanced with Chrissy. Received at least 4 calls to confirm our attendance and again today! When we arrived we were told there was no table available. Then the other person looked at the clipboard and my name was the first on the list but she said she called me and I didn't answer. Every time I spoke with someone they kept telling me please be sure to have cash. I could not recall the name of the people I spoke with in the phone, maybe Missy or Lynn. The only name I had written down was Chrissy which was the first person I spoke original with. I was told she hadn't been on schedule for a week. Which was my point exactly that's when I reserved. In the end we were told we could not all Four be accommodated but only two of us because of a shortage of glasses to Be painted. Seriously? Grab two from the shelf and accommodate us but that was not an option. I could not believe they sent us away (That was Kayla I believe) I will never be back here ever. My husband and I have spent a lot of money on purchases of wine bottles since they've opened and they have lost our business forever. I never received a follow up call or anything to apologize. At the end of the day mistakes happen, own them and move on. Horrible people skills!!

I was here on the 4th of June 2014 for Ladies Night. Its a cute little wine store with a bar and lounge area to the back. I did find the wine prices were high for some of the wines, there was one for $14 (Ladies Night Special Price). The other wines ranged from 5-8 for 3 and 6 ounces. As far as the food, the Canadian maple ham (Pair w/ tempranillo) is delicious. I do want to check out the wine tasting one of these days.

Very cool place to grab some wine/beer with a friend or significant other. It's very relaxed and there's live music some nights. I have always had a good experience here. Friendly staff and great wine!

Was there last night with my baby, not sure what to expect since it was new to both of us...but I must say that we were both very pleasantly surprised!! The ambiance was nice, I'd suggest maybe more comfortable couches. Maybe some softer lighting would make it a more cozy, romantic place. The wine selection was nice, we chose a wonderful 2009 Chardonnay and accompanied it with a cheese platter, salmon and an awesome eggplant dish. Everything was delish and the waitresses were very helpful too... I'll definitely go back...

Love the wine tasting on Tuesdays but the owner is a bit much. He was very friendly but also very self promoting. He brought over a magazine with him on the front cover telling us, how successful he is. It was just a bit unnecessary

Wednesday night is ladies night with half off selected wines (very few to pick from).. They do let you try the wine before choosing one which was nice. Free glass of wine with yelp check in so make sure to do that. They do fill up the glasses which was a plus.

Same owner as Libations in Weston. Same concept, Same result. Little selection. Huge markup. Limited stalff knowledge. Asked for a Spanish Priorat, was taken to a Cali chard by staff member. Go figure. Poor implementation of a concept that has succeeded elsewhere. Advice is to spend your hard earned $$$ elsewhere.

My fiancé and I used to come to this wine place many times over seven months ago and loved it. We decided to come back tonight for a sort of reunion with the place as they always made us feel at home and suggested wines that were to our liking. The staff previously were very accommodating and friendly now it's completely the opposite. We ordered appetizers and the empanadas tasted like cardboard and the hummus and pita were straight from Publix. The wine is extremely overpriced and they try to sell you on bottles before you even have a chance to settle in. The musician seemed as if he was playing at a funeral playing the same humdrum tune over and over. I could not stand it any longer so I asked for the check at which point the check did not come so I added up my bill from the menu and put the money on the counter and walked out. This place has gone completely downhill and I am very surprised it is still in business. As a sidenote I checked in at this place because they offered a free glass of wine with a check in I was told that it was for house wine which is fine but they said they were out of house wine red so they would have to give me the white. I told them I do not drink white and they did not offer a replacement glass which would have been the correct thing to do. All of this being said of course we will never be back.

That wine place "That Wine Place" is such a fine store. Their selection is top notch and offers you a wide range of prices, from "under-10's" to high end bottles. If you do your research, you'll find that the folks at "That Wine Place" have also done their research. Even the under-10 bottles are delicious and have received some critical acclaim. I really appreciate their packaging when you purchase a bottle. A very nice, purple wine bag, with a nice logo sticker. But honestly, it's not really necessary. The caring and concern is established once you walk in the door, and the bag is just an excess. Save the money. Remember, the best part of the wine is inside the bottle, not on the outside. I appreciate the occasional live music, but they may want to encourage the performers to bring the amps down a few notches. The place has a very live acoustic (lots of wood, and glass to reverb) and the electronically enhanced sound becomes a little too much. The bar is very inviting and the staff seemed concerned, helpful and easy going. On a recent visit, I bought an extremely inexpensive bottle of white wine. I wanted to make a white sangria, but couldn't bring myself to visit the dusty bottom shelf at Publix. My cheap bottle of wine was treated with the same dignity and appreciation as any expensive bottle. I left with a great taste in my mouth, thanks to their attentive service and clean, modern, inviting atmosphere. Their weekly specials offer many opportunities for a "night out" with someone special, or even a group of friends, without having to go over the top. I'm still on the fence about the name of the store. I get it. They are going for edgy, hip and simple with the name. Some days I love it, some days I don't. However, I like this store and the touch of class it brings to this shopping center (plagued by RA Sushi) , every day. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see some of you at the bar enjoying a two-for-one night!

The hubby and I were looking for somewhere to go on Saturday night. We came across "that Wine place." In my husband's words this place is a "little piece of heaven." Wine + Cheese+ mma fights=the perfect night. To top it off our waiter was awesome. We sat in the couches in the back. There were 4 flat screen tv's hanging from the wall. My husband told the waiter that he was an mma fan. He immediately put on the strikeforce fight on showtime. The hubby and I are MMA fans so this just completed our night. We ordered a bottle of wine and the international cheese platter (includes Muenster, Gouda, brie, feta). We felt like we were at home. We were told that they also play the ppv UFC fights so its a guarantee that we will be back. I couldn't wait to yelp about this place.

There's nothing better than walking past a little wine place and having a hostess hand you are coupon for a free glass of wine. We certainly weren't going to say no to that! And so we ended up at That Wine Place on a girl's night out. If you need a nice quaint place to have a glass of wine and unwind from the stresses of holiday shopping? Then That Wine Place is the place for you! With their wide variety of wines and their nice selection of appetizers, That Wine Place will not disappoint. Not too crowded and not too empty....just right. And if you're lucky, you'll come around just in time to listen to the live music or catch that game on one of their several flat screens!

To be honest what kind of bar has a drag queen hairdresser as a manager? That Wine Place Does! Maybe, the owner needs to look hard look at what place was and what its turned into. What's more hysterical is that fact that they, keep hiring people with no experience. The service is poor and the food is nothing to right home about. It's the same music every week same songs its like being in a awful time loop that you cant escape. Everything you can find there is at Total Wines with about a 300 percent markup... save yourself the effort stay home. make your own ambiance. Wine is a beautiful thing that shouldn't be taken away by sure negligence and a grossly flailing business

Sometimes a place leaves an impression, and "That Wine Place" definitely did on me. I walked in here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend, we were casually shopping at the Pembroke Gardens when we passed this quaint little spot. My friend backtracked a few steps and requested we stop in, for she had been searching high and wide for a bottle of wine she had tried at a restaurant, yet she couldn't remember the name or even what kind of wine it was. All she knew is that is was red, and was sure that if she saw the label she would recognize it and was somewhat certain it began with the letter P. Thus began a wild goose chase. The store/cafe itself is very cute and especially clean. A full wall of wines and wine accessories of the left, a bar on the right and couches/ tables in the back. There was one lone guy working, but seeing as me and my friend were the only ones in the place, it worked out a-ok. I don't know this guys name, but I am going to call him Bob. Bob was especially helpful. My friend explained the situation about the ongoing search for the elusive red wine and Bob went through books, consulted Google, even went on the restaurant website (which I don't know why my friend didn't think of that herself). After about 30 minutes, alas, the wine was discovered! Unfortunately, That Wine Place did not have the bottle, but Bob told us he order it for her and then offered a discount! Talk about customer service! On top of this, Bob offered us wine samples. Wine samples aplenty. Along with our samples, we got some edumacation about the wine we were sipping. I always appreciate when employees are knowledgeable on the product. When we left, I had a happy buzz going -that's how you know it's good. I did not try any of the food, but I plan to. I did view the menu which is not extensive, offering only a handful of tapas and cheese dishes, however I am going to guess that what is offered is fresh and yummy. But I will update once I know for sure :)

We had a really good time. The waitress let us try from different red wines before we could make up our minds. We ended up with our favorite plus a delicious appetizer of Baba ganouj and capresse salad, I wish portions were a little bigger though. Nice atmosphere great service! coming back for sure

I have known this place since it was called "The Grape Merchant". Now, just as then, they are incredible. I always feel welcome when I walk inside, and the ambiance is always such a pleasure. Before visiting this little shop, I was a guy that could drink wine on occasion, even found myself enjoying it from time to time. After my first visit (and second, and third, and fourth...), I have come to the firm belief wine is the superior alcoholic beverage of the world. Whoever you are, whatever type of drinks you're into, this place can make you a convert to the world of wine. I can't imagine the staff being unable to find exactly what you are looking for, even if you don't know you're looking for it. On top of this, the food is pretty good - I won't say excellent, it takes a lot for me to say that about any place. Then again, this place isn't necessarily supposed to be about the food. It is perfect for when you're enjoying Pembroke Gardens with friends, going shop-to-shop, or as an after-dinner destination, relaxing on loungers and maybe enjoying a game on their flat-screen. I do have to agree with a previous comment about the music, though. They should probably limit the amperage. For me, however, it's a minor detail that does not in any way compromise the overall level of excellence this shop and its staff exemplify.

disappointed. stopped by there last night to share a bottle of wine before we went to dinner and found out the all wines have a retail price to purchase the wine and take it home or a cop price that is if you purchase it to drink there. (consume on premise). all of the prices were all different for each wine. one wine was $78.00 for the bottle but the cop price was $178.00. called the store today to ask who determines the cop prices and the young lady that answered the phone said she just started working there and has no idea. i would understand a corkage fee of maybe $10 to $15.00, but $100.00 for the cakebread, are they for real??? others were doubled the price of the bottle. we walked out and went to restaurant in the plaza and ordered a bottle of wine at the bar before dinner, no corkage fee. also when i called today the phone rang 10 times and no answer. i called back 20 minutes later and they answered on the 5th ring. guess they don't want people buying a bottle to drink there. don't see how they are going to survive. also there were at least 5 people working there when all 3 of us walked in and not one employee greeted us or welcomed us or gave a hoot. thanks for that.

We just happened to be in Pembroke Gardens for dinner and still felt like we wanted to check out someplace else after a horrible dinner experience only to come up with That Wine Place, a wine bar I have been to before which really gave me a bad impression because they up charged their bottles of wine by 25% to drink in the store, otherwise known as a "corkage fee". I was really angry and insulted and walked out. It was my early days on Yelp and could not rate this place better than a one star rating and wrote how I felt about it, giving it a terrible review. Well, not really caring how that night went, we all walked in tonight and was kindly greeted by Rhen, who was so nice, informational and explained how this place works now. We both immediately got into a discussion on different wines and she seemed to have experience and know a lot about the different wines they were carrying and about various wine makers. I opened myself up to my frustration regarding my last visit here, and with a pleasant surprise she informed me that it was a big issue with many customers, and they were not willing to pay the kind of prices they were asking on in house bottles of wine. I was so relieved the owner listened and from what Rhen said, they are selling a lot more wine and along with their great tapas menu, are doing quite well now. Rhen successfully recommended a great Grenache she told me was better than the original bottle I was familiar with on the shelf. She was very positive, and lo and behold, she was right on. It was a bottle of Red Right Hand which had a great fruity flavor to it. All four of us loved the wine and I was convinced this place has people here that know their wines and are not there to "rip us off" in house or out the door. That Wine Place has a great tasting atmosphere, a nice size bar and lots of tables in the back as well as in front of the bar itself. Their tapas menu has never been an issue from some of the reviews I have read and we ordered their cheese plate with crackers and jam to enhance the tasting of our great wine. The tapas menu has quite a wide variety of item. Sandwiches, cheeses, meat balls as well as enough dishes to have a dinner there while drinking wine. Rhen spent quite a bit of time with us , was sweet, informative and loved her explanations of what they offer there now. Besides the free Yelp coupon for a free glass of wine, they also offered a free glass of wine off their list of specific wines. Thought that was really nice, just to appreciate that we just walked in. That Wine Place has different wine tastings every Tuesday night, and offers entertainment on the weekends. They do have a wide variety of different small production wines as well as popular higher end wines. They also serve beer, with a large selection of beer. So glad we walked in again only to discover they were a lot more reasonable and does not cost us any more for a bottle of wine we want to drink there as it does to take one home. Thank you, That Wine Place for listening to your cliental and doing what is right for your business in the future and mostly for your customers.

This wine bar is not bad, but not great. I do recall coming here maybe two years ago and it was much more inviting. Now it doesn't have that feel of wanting to enjoy a few glasses of wine. The decor is nice. The outdoor seating is a great touch and the visible wine selection would make any wine connoisseur envious. However, the ambiance I have a bit of issue with. To me, the elephant in the room is that it's way too bright in there! I even commented to the staff how the lights take away from the mood and they said they usually don't turn down the lighting till 8 p.m. It's already dark outside by the time 8pm rolls around and I know many restaurants dim the lights so it doesn't feel like they're trying to be seen from space. Anyway, enough of that. On to the important part! The wine selection is decent. I like a good cabernet, myself. I do recall their wines were fairly expensive. Now it's much more reasonable. I highly recommend going there with friends as I feel it's a much more enjoyable experience with company. Overall, this is a nice little wine bar. Bring a friend and enjoy the night.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly hostess. She gave us the menus and asked us if it was our first time here. She explained the beer and wine menu. To my surprise they have an array of food items that pair perfectly with your selection of wine or beer. In addition to all its goodness this place has live music on Saturdays and Sunday's. The Cabernet Sauvignon I tried was so delicate and smooth. It made my mouth water. I had such a relaxing time. I'm definitely coming back. Sometimes you just need to get away, listen to some great tunes, and drink a wonderful glass of wine. This is the place to do it.

Just AWFUL service! I was there for a friends birthday party. We ordered wine and food and tried to have a great time but, the place was so HOT we were using our menus to fan ourselves. There were only 2 servers for the entire place on a Thursday night. They had live music and even though we were sat in the FAR back, it was so loud, we could not have a conversation. The food was just OK not, worth the hefty price tags. The server said he was sending out a birthday dessert on the house but, it was actually put on the bill along with several dishes we did not order. We also did not receive some dishes we DID order. When it came time to pay, I took control since they could not do separate checks. I have no idea what POS system they use but, they got it ALL wrong. We spent 40 minutes dealing with the BILL alone! It was a nightmare and I wound up paying over $100 more than I should have. It's pretty safe to say I will NOT be heading back to That Wine Place anytime....ever!

The sangria is no longer unlimited on Sundays. The server told us it was, but the manager wouldn't honor it. We had a free drink coupon that they also didn't want to honor. The manager was rude and wouldn't honor the Yelp coupon either. We came in with a group and will not ever return.

I used to love this place. They used to have a manager named Nicki. She was great! The service was spotless and every time I went there I knew I would have a great time. Unfortunately, that changed. My last three visits were terrible. I promised myself that I am not going back there again. Last two times that I went there I was completely ignored. I am not going back! It breaks my heart to write this review, I am just doing so because I truly hope that changes will be made!

Loved this tiny gem. We walked in and were handed free drink cards. One glass of wine on the house? Yes, please! There was a one man band in the corner playing rock classics. If you're a tough critic, you probably wouldn't enjoy his performance. I thought it was perfect for the place. Didn't have any food, but definitely a good spot close to home for a nice quiet date in the middle of the week.

This little shop/tapas bar in the Shops @ Pembroke Gardens is quaint. It has a huge variety of wines (including one of my Napa hard to find wines-Cakebread Cellars YAHOO) & some standard bubbly. At night they offer you a free glass of wine & you can sample other wines by the glass at moderate prices if you don't want to go for the bottle. If you do go for a bottle, know they'll charge you a corkage fee which I didn't like. You're a Wine bar, you have to open bottles. If I'm buying the WHOLE bottle, I shouldn't have to pay more for it. There was a guy playing in a keyboard that I could do without... But other than that, I'm sure we'll be back when shopping in the area. :)

This is a tough review to write because we had an unnecessary, awkward experience. I came here with a friend to experience some tasty red wines. We sat outside and it was lovely, and since it was still the holiday season there were pretty lights on the pillars outside. The waitress was sweet, we ordered the Earthquake Zin and it was fabulous (as expected, it's my favorite zin). The waitress wasn't around much but we are two chatty Cathys so it didn't bother us. But we did notice a couple sitting across the way who was waiting for a long time with no service, so they up and left. After our first glass, we asked the waitress to suggest something similar: a zin or red blend that's full bodied, smokey, oak-y and fruity. We let her choose and she came back with a wine that smelled like foot. I tried it and it was "wet" and tasted like peanuts. I know this might have been a good wine to others but I specifically asked for a wine with totally different profiles. We politely let her know that it wasn't what we were expecting and she said she would come back with something else. But instead she brings samples? So I ask to try one more thing (since now I thought it was allowed) and someone else comes out and asks if we are having problems with our wine. This kind of threw me off because we never had any problems, we just figured sampling was allowed and we only wanted a replacement wine for the one that didn't suite our requests. So I was told I didn't have an old world palette. And at that, I just ordered the wine that we sampled. When she brought out our wine she asked if we would like water and we said yes. She never brought it out. The first waitress was awesome, albeit a little slow, but she was friendly and I was happy with her. I was sad that she disappeared after the second person came out. So it was really awkward and we will forever have a laugh at the time I was told I don't have an old world palette.

DO NOT COME BACK HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything has changed and it's not under new ownership. They allow you to check in to Yelp and order the free drink... Then once you drink it, they tell you that they can't honor it. They tell you that their previously $15 all you can drink Sangria is now $25 but after you start drinking it, they tell you it's NOT all you can drink. They do not honor any previous promotions or coupons that they gave you in the past. This place is a JOKE and they are just trying to rip you off and call you a liar when you call them on it. Ridiculous. I will NOT be back. Save your money and go someplace else.

I went with a small group of friends for wine paint glass. Its nice to come and enjoy some girl time. Its $25 cash only and includes two glasses of wine. I haven't been there on the weekends so not sure the type of crowd or the ambience but will give it a shot on of these days.

I don't take a long time to drink a glass or 2 of wine but I was stuck in this place for almost 3 hours! The second glass of wine I ordered definitely needed to breath for quite a bit more time. When I told our server about it after all of the other tables that were sat after us had left, he replies "I didn't know that you knew so much about wine..." Please be careful if you choose to tread into this disaster of a wine bar.

I love this place. Not as loud and rowdy as Ra and the Pub, you can have good conversation, and a great glass of wine (or 2..). The selection is overwhelming for me, and since I'm no afficianado I usually give the server an idea of my likes and dislikes and leave the rest up to them. Just learned on that on Thursday nights it's 2-for-1 6oz servings! Only had a salad here, and that was great too!

Stopped in one evening with my husband just to wait for our friends and other dinner reservations in another restaurant, very politely the wine bar tender asked it's what wine we were looking to try, I was very overwhelmed worth the selection of wines that I requested he suggest something. He offered me and my husband some of the wines on "tap" ... we both choose a very delicious cabernet along with manchego and olives.. It was delish. Our friends joined us and also joined the selection of wine the bar tender selected. Very nice hangout spot.

It's a little pricey, but I still like it. I eat before I come here so we are not inclined to get more than one entree of finger foods. The server was very friendly, and was knowledgeable about the wines. She didn't mind if we kept trying wines until we found the one we wanted to get a glass of. The only problem I have about this place was their live entertainment. They had some woman who thought she was Mariah Carey singing at the top of her lungs, and that in combination with a very small room doesn't work well.

It has been a while since me and the wifey have been here. It kinda lost its charm after the re-opening a while back. Stopped in for a after dinner glass and met up with Kurt! Best Service in a long time! Cheers!

This place was such a great surprise: they have an excellent wine selection and it's for all pockets and their food selection is very good as well. The service deserves even an extra star, as everybody are so nice and knowledgeable!
